Declaration of Faith
-
We affirm the doctrine of revelation, that God communicates to human beings the truth concerning Himself, His nature, works, will and purposes by unveiling it to us in the Scriptures.
-
We affirm the authority of God’s word, living in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.
-
We affirm that the Bible (the Scriptures) in the original autographs is without factual, historical, scientific, or theological errors of any kind. They are our sole and final authority. We affirm the inerrancy of the Bible.
-
We affirm the Holy Trinity, that the Triune God is one in being and three in persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
We affirm that God is eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and blessed, holy, righteous, just, good, love, gracious, merciful, and faithful.
-
We affirm the providence of God, that God causes all things that he called into existence to continue, in fulfillment of His purposes.
-
We affirm that God created all things ex nihilo (out of nothing) and mankind was made in the image of God. God created humans as male and female and instituted the covenant of marriage to be between one man and one woman.
-
We affirm original sin, that when mankind fell, we inherited original guilt and pollution resulting in the depravity of humanity, inherently corrupt extending to every part of existence and that there is no spiritual good in humans.
-
We affirm the deity of Jesus of Nazareth. He is the Word made flesh, the second person of the Trinity, the Son of the living God, the prophesied Messiah.
-
We affirm the incarnation and the virgin birth. Jesus the Son was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary and took unto Himself full human nature.
-
We affirm all the miracles of Jesus recorded in the New Testament.
-
We affirm the substitutionary atonement of Jesus’ death upon the cross. This redeemed mankind and propitiated God the Father, by vicariously taking the penalty of man’s sins, Jesus reconciled man to God the Father.
-
We affirm the death, burial, bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
-
We affirm the deity of the Holy Spirit.
-
We affirm that the Holy Spirit effectually calls, regenerates, and grants repentance and faith in sinful human beings.
-
We affirm justification is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
-
We affirm the doctrine of progressive sanctification. Sanctification is a process that starts from the very moment of our salvation, progresses throughout life and will only be perfect beyond death.
-
We affirm the sealing and earnest of the Spirit and the perseverance of the saints.
-
We affirm the Church is an assembly of people who are truly Christian.
-
We affirm the characteristics of the Church include preaching the word with the intent of the growth and establishment of believers and the evangelization of the lost, and the administration of the sacraments and the exercise of discipline.
-
We affirm that there are only two sacraments, Baptism, and The Lord’s Supper, they are symbols and seals.
-
We affirm credo-baptism, or “believers’ baptism” by immersion.
-
We affirm The Lord’s Supper to be a symbol and seal.
-
We affirm the personal and physical second coming of Jesus Christ.
-
We affirm the resurrection of the body and the final judgment. At the second coming of Jesus the dead will be raised and judged, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
